THE DECISIVE MOMENT

The decisive moment, as Henri Cartier-Bresson defined it, is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression.”

The decisive moment is a fragment of life that speaks of a person’s character usually found at the crest of an emotional wave

A look

A touch

A gesture

All of the above

HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE A MOMENT?

Look at your environment and move to frame the image

Anticipate action

Wait and watch for the peak moment

Shoot both vertically and horizontally

Wait for action to come into your frame

Go early and stay late…
