Mass Communication 102, Introduction to Media Writing, is a course that will

News for MC 102 students MC102 LABS WILL MEET ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. The labs for MC102 will meet on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 8 and 9.

ATTENDANCE AND ENROLLMENT.
Enrollment for the fall semester is very tight. If you are enrolled in the course and do not attend at least one of the first three meetings (two labs and lecture) of the course, you will be dropped from the course so that someone else can have your spot. Read more about the attendance policy for the course.

Trying to enroll in MC102?
If you have not been able to enroll in MC102, you should fill out an request to enroll form (right) and turn it in to the Journalism department office by Friday, Jan. 10. You can obtain the form in the Journalism office or you can download it from this web site (requires Adobe Acrobat).

GSPD.
The Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation and Diction exam will be given when the first labs of the semester meet on Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 9. This will be the only time the exam is given during class time. It will be given periodically at other times throughout the semester. You must achieve a score of 75 out of 100 in order to receive a grade for the course. Make sure you check out the study guide before taking the exam.

Extra credit for writing for Dateline Alabama.
Students in MC102 can receive extra credit by reporting and writing news stories for Dateline Alabama, the College's news web site. For each story that is posted, a student will receive one point added to the final average for the course. Find out how you can do this.
