Naming a web site Reserving a URL (uniform resource locator); ".com" or what RULE: Generally, the shorter the better. How much does it cost? Not much. Structuring a site the way you go about this is extremely important; you must be very careful to know and remember what you are doing.

You build your web site on a local disk or hard drive. When you are ready, you transfer (upload) your folders and file to a server using some kind of FTP (file transfer program). Your hosting service or your web editor (the software you use to build your site) will provide you with a way to transfer your files.
